  Furnace Glass Frit

Reduction glass have COE (coefficient of expansion) of 92-96 and are compatible with Uroboros 96 and Bullseye glass.  You can also use  them sparingly as surface decorations when working with Moretti glass.  Below are frits grouped by manufacturer.  They include Reichenbach, Zimmerman, Gaffer, and Loetz.

Price is per oz.  Sample beads are not included.  Frits are packaged in 4mm plastic zip lock bags . Many may look similar but can behave differently after application.  Therefore buying 1 oz to play is the smart way to test a new color. Recently both Reichenbach and Gaffer developed new and interesting reactive colors.  It is a great loss to the bead community that Zimmerman decided to discontinue their frit production.  Therefore I only have limited Zimmerman inventory on hand.

Zimmerman Frits COE 96
The pre-made Mountain Blue is sold out.  I have decided to only sell chunks by breaking up my 1 kilo rod .  You can further reduce the size by grinding or hammering, and demagnetize.  My favorite method is preheat the chunk in the annealing kiln, punty up with chopstick or mandrel, heat until red hot and dunk in water.  After drying, further grinding using a food processor or coffee grinder.  Be sure to demagnetize.  The chunks can also be easily pulled into stringers.

Srikingcolor Silver Glass COE 104

Over the past few years soft glass bead makers discovered American made silver glass.  Currently the main supplies are Double Helix, Trautman Art Glass, and Strikingcolor by Brad Shulz.  Brad's glass are available maybe once or twice per month and each batch is different.  Brad sell them via Etsy or Artfire but they get sold out within hours and sometimes minutes after they are listed.  So one has to be quick and lucky to get them.  I have decided to let go some of Brad's glass in 1/4 lb assortment but due to limited quality, max per customer is 1/4 lb please.  These glass need to be heated until clear, let cool, and reintroduce into flame to strike.  Therefore, you should have a surface mix torch to make beads with them.

You will receive 4 oz of Strikingcolor glass rods from various batches I have.  The rods will be labeled.  One or 2 rods may be shorts or odd size.  Majority will be about 4-6mm diameter and 12 inches long.  The sample beads not included.  To conserve the silver glass, I used clear Moretti core to make the beads.  max per customer is 1/4 lb please
